Version 1.1, 18 September 2026. These terms cover the one-year licence bought inside the app through the App Store, which is also governed by Apple's standard end-user licence agreement, and the code the app provides so that same licence can be carried to your other iPhone or iPad.
Doorward is a preparation tool. It helps the person responsible for premises under the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 to determine scope and tier, write public protection procedures, assess measures where the enhanced duty applies, keep records and evidence, plan actions and prepare the information the Security Industry Authority will ask for. Its Readiness Assessment identifies preparedness and potential gaps against the requirements of the Act. It is not legal advice, it does not certify compliance, and it is not endorsed by the Home Office, the SIA or any government body. No product is. Responsibility for complying with the Act remains with the responsible person.
A licence is a single payment for one year of use for one premises, bought inside the app through the App Store. It does not renew automatically. When it ends, everything entered stays on the device and can be read and edited; building a new assessment needs a new licence. Managing more than one premises needs a licence for each, bought the same way. After buying, the app can give you a code so the same licence can be used on your other iPhone or iPad, up to three devices in total. That code is for your own use: it may not be shared, sold, or used by anyone other than the person who bought the licence, and buying one is the only way to obtain a working code; a code obtained any other way is not valid and will not be honoured.
There is currently no way to buy a Doorward licence, or anything that unlocks the app, on this website or from anyone other than Apple through the app itself. If that changes, this page will say so and give the terms that apply.
Your records stay on your device. See the privacy policy. You are responsible for keeping a backup.
The app reflects the Act, the Home Office statutory guidance published 15 April 2026, the supplementary documents and the notification guidance, with paragraph references. Guidance may change before and after commencement; we update the app as it does, but you should check the official sources, which the app links to, before relying on any statement.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Otherwise our liability to you in connection with Doorward is limited to the amount you paid for the licence in the twelve months before the claim.
